The Hollywood Way

Em termos de campanha de marketing, os anos 80 foram da Hollywood. Aqueles comerciais marcaram a juventude de toda uma geração (e foi uma das mais longas!). Tudo começou em 1973, quando a agência de publicidade Grant redirecionou os comerciais da marca para uma abordagem associada aos esportes radicais. Rolava de tudo: surf, windsurf, rapel, rafting, esqui, trekking, snowboard, pára-quedismo, automobilismo, motociclismo, etc. Durante os anos 80, a fórmula ganhou um novo ingrediente - a trilha sonora matadora, formada pelos principais hits do pop rock da época.

Aqui no Brasil, a campanha era desenvolvida pela agência DPZ, do RJ. O slogan era The Hollywood Way, cujos jingles eram veiculados massificadamente na TV e nas rádios. O sucesso era tão grande que o jingle ganhou até uma versão "deluxe" com ninguém menos que David Coverdale nos vocais e um instrumental executado pelo grupo Roupa Nova, que ele mesmo escolheu em uma seleção.
